As we started down the hill we realized the storm was getting a little too close for comfort. We started hurrying, running a little. We got spread out, with me in the front, followed by Sascha and his friend Silvia, and farther back were James, Mom, Juergen, Edith, and Bonnie.
We could all hear the wind and rain coming from behind the trees, and it was hard to keep from stumbling. Once I reached the first buildings, I sort of waited between them for Sascha and Silvia. It turns out that some guys had been nice enough to pick them up in a car, and they picked me up, too, then dropped us at the house. We got a key to the house from a neighbor and then Sascha took the car out to look for the rest of the group.
By now it had started raining very hard and there was lots of lightning and wind. Then James, Mom, Edith, and Bonnie arrived- they cut across a field and to the town, where they got a ride from someone they knew. Juergen hadn't heard when they told him they were cutting across the field, so he had run home, then run back looking for them. Sascha showed up shortly afterwards. James was really freaked out and worried about us, but we are all safe and sound now! It was quite an adventure! And I finally got in the run I have been meaning to do! To the left is a picture of the radar.
